DISCUSSION PANEL

On speaking, reading, and writing in school and preschool children

The participants of the panel had the chance to listen to speeches carried by specialists in speech and language therapy and to actively participate in the discussion. They found out the impact of  bilingualism on child’s development, learned how to support a child who stutters, and got insight on the role of parents and teachers in supporting speech language therapy. Thank you for such high turnout and feel free to browse the pictures from the event.

Panel was organized by: EDU-RES Foundation, Agere Aude Foundation for Knowledge and Social Dialogue, Silesian Department of the Polish Logopedic Society, Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre in Chorzów. The event took place on September 15th 2017 in the Silesian Centre for Education and Interdisciplinary Research in Chorzów. Every participant received a certificate of attendance.

LOGOPEDIC FAMILY PICNIC

Native American village of good communication

On September 15th 2017 on the greens of the Silesian Centre for Education and Interdisciplinary Research in Chorzów there was also another educational and social event – Logopedic Family Picnic with Native American village of good communication. The organizers of this event: Agere Aude Foundation for Knowledge and Social Dialogue and Primary School no. 15 in Chorzów, aimed at promoting knowledge on good speech and communication among the citizens of Chorzów – especially kids and teenagers.

Children taking part in the event had the chance to try their hand in a linguistic field game called “Become a words charmer”. They played roles of the members of Native American village and solved tasks related to pronunciation and good communication. The following students’ research clubs functioning in the Irena Bajerowa Institute of the Polish Language at University of Silesia gave a helping hand in organizing the picnic: Polish Language and Culture Club, and Students’ Linguistic Club.
